trellis is a 6-year commitment to becoming an exceptional middle or high school STEM teacher.
TRELLIS TEACHER SCHOLARS ENTER THEIR 6TH YEAR OF TEACHING WITH:
No debt related to becoming or developing as a teacher;
At least 5 years of teaching experience in high-need California public middle and high schools;
5 years of free mentoring support from a STEM-specific, expert mentor;
A free, cleared California teaching credential in at least one STEM discipline;
A free, Master of Arts degree in Education or a Master of Science degree in a STEM field;
At least one year as a mentor of a Trellis Teacher Scholar;
National Board Certification initiated in a STEM discipline;
Demonstrated effectiveness as a secondary STEM teacher;
A belief that STEM teaching is an act of social justice and STEM learning is a civil right; and
A commitment to and passion for California students and the teaching profession.
